As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship and coastal ecosystem preservation, Charoen Pokphand Group and CP Axtra Public Company Limited (CPAXTRA), in collaboration with government agencies, educational institutions, youth, and the Ban Pak Duad community, organized the “CP 100 Love the Earth – Sustainable Thai Sea: SEACOSYSTEM” initiative at Ban Pak Duad, Klang Subdistrict, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
This initiative was held in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup Day and featured multiple sustainability-driven activities aimed at reducing environmental impact and strengthening community engagement:
- Beach Waste Cleanup & Sorting: Volunteers collected and segregated marine debris to reduce waste accumulation and promote awareness of proper waste management practices.
- Youth Environmental Education: The program emphasized instilling environmental responsibility among children and youth through hands-on activities, reinforcing the long-term importance of marine ecosystem protection.
- Coastal Tree Planting: Trees were planted along the beach to enhance green spaces and mitigate shoreline erosion.
- Marine Restocking Efforts: Over 10 million juvenile suai-a (local marine species) were released into the sea to restore marine biodiversity and support local fisheries.
In addition, a Community Marine Hatchery Center was launched under the innovative “Aquatic Animal Bank” concept, enabling sustainable breeding of aquatic species and supporting long-term marine resource recovery led by the local community.
To foster youth participation, a blue crab egg cleaning activity was held, providing hands-on conservation education focused on the life cycle and sustainable propagation of marine species. This initiative reflects CP Group’s broader sustainability commitment to biodiversity conservation, responsible resource use, and enhancing the quality of life in local communities.
